The In-App Chat Messaging feature by Yelowsoft is a key communication tool that enables customers and drivers to communicate with each other directly through the mobile app while a trip is in progress. It offers a fast, secure, and convenient way to exchange important trip-related information without the need for phone calls.


🎯 Purpose of In-App Chat

This feature helps resolve common communication challenges between drivers and customers during a trip:

  • Customer and driver are unable to connect via phone
  • Clarification needed about pickup or drop-off location
  • Driver has taken a wrong route or made an unexpected stop
  • Short, quick messages are needed without exchanging contact numbers
  • Enhanced privacy and convenience for both parties

🔐 Privacy & Security

  • No personal phone numbers are shared between the customer and driver
  • Chat messages are restricted to the duration of the trip
  • All messages are sent via encrypted and secure channels

🛠️ How the In-App Chat Works

Trip Starts

Once a trip is accepted and started, the chat option becomes available in both the customer and driver apps.

Accessing Chat

  • Customer: Ongoing Trip screen → Tap Chat Icon
  • Driver: Trip Details screen → Tap Chat Icon

Sending a Message

  • Type a message in the text box
  • Send quick updates such as:
    • “I’m at the pickup point.”
    • “Please wait 2 minutes.”
    • “Are you nearby?”
    • “This is not the correct drop location.”

Chat Ends Automatically

  • Chat feature is automatically disabled once the trip is completed, ensuring conversations are limited to the relevant trip timeframe.

  • It can be enabled/disabled from the admin panel based on your operational policies.
