📲 Overview

The WhatsApp Notification feature in Yelowsoft offers an alternative to traditional SMS notifications by allowing trip and system updates to be sent directly to customers and drivers via WhatsApp. This ensures faster, more visible communication and improved user engagement.


💡 What is WhatsApp Notification?

WhatsApp Notification mirrors the existing SMS notification system but sends updates over WhatsApp using an integrated WhatsApp Business API. Updates can include:

  • Trip details (assigned, started, completed)
  • Account verification or activation
  • Payment confirmations
  • Password setup/reset links
  • Promotional and system alerts

This provides richer formatting options and better delivery tracking.


🔧 How It Works

Client Registers WhatsApp Business Account

Clients set up or share access to their WhatsApp Business account. Yelowsoft assists with connecting the system to the WhatsApp Business API.

Configuration by Admin

Admins can enable or disable WhatsApp notifications for specific events from the admin panel, similar to the SMS event setup.

Automatic Notifications Sent Over WhatsApp

When a predefined event is triggered (e.g., trip assigned), the system automatically sends a WhatsApp message to the registered number.

Message Customization

Messages can be customized for:

  • Language
  • Content
  • Personalization using dynamic placeholders (e.g., name, trip ID)

✍️ Steps to Enable WhatsApp Notifications

  1. Login to Yelowsoft Admin Panel
  2. Navigate to Settings → WhatsApp Notification Settings
  3. Choose the event (e.g., Trip Started, Account Verified)
  4. Enable the toggle to activate WhatsApp messages for that event
  5. Edit message content if required
  6. Save settings

Once enabled, the system will send updates through WhatsApp automatically.
