1.13 Driver NoShow Shield

Overview

The NoShow feature is designed to handle situations where drivers reach the pickup location but the customer does not show up. Instead of cancelling the trip and facing cancellation penalties, drivers can mark the ride as a NoShow after waiting for a defined period set by the admin.

What is NoShow?

NoShow is a configuration in the driver app that allows drivers to shift a booking into the NoShow section if the customer is unavailable. This ensures drivers are not penalized for cancellations that are not their fault.

Example Use Case

  • A driver arrives at the hotel to pick up a passenger
  • The driver waits for the admin-defined waiting time (e.g., 10 minutes)
  • The passenger does not appear
  • Instead of canceling, the driver clicks the NoShow button
  • The booking moves into the NoShow section, and no cancellation charge is applied to the driver

Key Benefits

  • Protects drivers from unfair cancellation charges
  • Reduces disputes between drivers and the company
  • Increases driver trust and satisfaction
  • Provides the company with transparent reporting on NoShow cases
  • Improves the overall booking management process

How It Works

  1. Admin Configuration – Admin defines the NoShow timer (e.g., 5–15 minutes)
  2. Driver Action – After the waiting time expires, the NoShow button becomes visible in the driver app
  3. Marking NoShow – Driver clicks the NoShow button if the passenger doesn’t show up
  4. Booking Update – The trip is moved to the NoShow category in the system
  5. Charges – No cancellation penalty is applied to the driver

Final Note

The NoShow feature ensures fairness for drivers and transparency for companies by handling missed passenger pickups more effectively. It creates a win-win situation — drivers are protected, companies get accurate tracking, and passengers are encouraged to be punctual.
