5.4 Custom Pricing

For details on Custom Pricing, refer to the guide below:

๐Ÿš• User Manual: Pricing Structure Configuration

This guide provides taxi companies with a clear and structured explanation of how to configure and manage pricing models using the admin panel. The platform supports two types of pricing methods under the Custom Rate section: Dynamic Pricing and Fixed Pricing. This enables operators to define flexible fare rules based on various business needs and service models.

๐Ÿ“ Navigating to Pricing Settingsโ€‹

To configure pricing:

  • Click on the "Pricing" option located in the left-hand navigation menu.

  • Select "Custom Rate" under the pricing section.

  • Here, admins can view existing pricing rules or click on the "New" button to create a new pricing structure.

๐Ÿงพ Types of Pricing Structuresโ€‹

1๏ธโƒฃ Dynamic Pricingโ€‹

In this model, the fare is calculated based on real-time trip parameters. Admins can configure the following components:

๐Ÿ”ง Configurable Fields:โ€‹

  • Base Fare: Initial fixed charge for every trip.

  • Base Kilometer: Distance covered under base fare.

  • Charge Per Kilometer: Cost applied per km after base distance.

  • Ride Time Charge: Fare calculated based on total trip duration.

  • Minimum Fare: The least chargeable amount, even if total fare is lower.

  • Waiting Time Charge: Fee is applied when a driver waits at the pickup location beyond a grace period.

  • Cancellation Charges: Fee is applied when a ride is cancelled by either driver or customer, based on set conditions.

  • Extra Passenger Charge: Additional fee for exceeding standard passenger limits.

  • Extra Luggage Charge: Fee applied for carrying luggage beyond the allowed limit.

๐Ÿงฎ Fare Calculation Logic:โ€‹

  • If total calculated fare (base fare + per km + ride time) exceeds the minimum fare, then the calculated fare applies.

  • If the total fare is less than the minimum fare, the minimum fare is charged instead.

2๏ธโƒฃ Fixed Pricingโ€‹

This model allows the admin to define a flat fare, regardless of distance or time.

๐Ÿ”ง Use Cases:โ€‹

  • Commonly used for airport transfers, point-to-point routes, or promotional fixed-rate rides.

๐Ÿ’ก Key Points:โ€‹

  • The fare remains unchanged regardless of actual kilometers or trip duration.

  • Admins can still configure:

    • Waiting Time Charges
    • Cancellation Charges
    • Extra Passenger/Luggage Charges

โš ๏ธ Note: Fixed pricing is suitable when trip parameters are predictable or predefined.

๐Ÿš— Vehicle-Specific Pricingโ€‹

Admins can assign pricing structures to specific vehicle types. This ensures that pricing logic matches the operational cost and service level of different vehicle categories.

๐Ÿ“Š Benefits for Taxi Companiesโ€‹

  • Flexible Fare Models: Offer competitive and transparent pricing for different service types.

  • Automated Fare Calculation: Eliminates manual pricing errors and ensures consistency.

  • Operational Efficiency: Dynamic and fixed pricing gives companies full control over how fares are applied.

  • Improved Customer Experience: Clear and fair pricing helps build trust and reduces disputes.

โœ… Conclusionโ€‹

With the Custom Rate system, taxi companies can effectively manage their pricing strategies, whether through a dynamic model that adapts to real-time trip details or a fixed-rate model for simplicity. This flexibility ensures optimized revenues, enhanced driver earnings, and a transparent fare structure for customers.
