This guide provides taxi companies with a clear and structured explanation of how to configure and manage pricing models using the admin panel. The platform supports two types of pricing methods under the Custom Rate section: Dynamic Pricing and Fixed Pricing. This enables operators to define flexible fare rules based on various business needs and service models.

📍 Navigating to Pricing Settings​

To configure pricing:

  • Click on the "Pricing" option located in the left-hand navigation menu.

  • Select "Custom Rate" under the pricing section.

  • Here, admins can view existing pricing rules or click on the "New" button to create a new pricing structure.

🧾 Types of Pricing Structures​

1️⃣ Dynamic Pricing​

In this model, the fare is calculated based on real-time trip parameters. Admins can configure the following components:

🔧 Configurable Fields:​

  • Base Fare: Initial fixed charge for every trip.

  • Base Kilometer: Distance covered under base fare.

  • Charge Per Kilometer: Cost applied per km after base distance.

  • Ride Time Charge: Fare calculated based on total trip duration.

  • Minimum Fare: The least chargeable amount, even if total fare is lower.

  • Waiting Time Charge: Fee is applied when a driver waits at the pickup location beyond a grace period.

  • Cancellation Charges: Fee is applied when a ride is cancelled by either driver or customer, based on set conditions.

  • Extra Passenger Charge: Additional fee for exceeding standard passenger limits.

  • Extra Luggage Charge: Fee applied for carrying luggage beyond the allowed limit.

🧮 Fare Calculation Logic:​

  • If total calculated fare (base fare + per km + ride time) exceeds the minimum fare, then the calculated fare applies.

  • If the total fare is less than the minimum fare, the minimum fare is charged instead.

2️⃣ Fixed Pricing​

This model allows the admin to define a flat fare, regardless of distance or time.

  • Commonly used for airport transfers, point-to-point routes, or promotional fixed-rate rides.

  • The fare remains unchanged regardless of actual kilometers or trip duration.

  • Admins can still configure:

    • Waiting Time Charges

    • Extra Passenger/Luggage Charges

⚠️ Note: Fixed pricing is suitable when trip parameters are predictable or predefined.
