2.9 Return Trip Feature

Yelowsoft's new feature, the return trip module, offers significant benefits for taxi dispatch companies. It enables the admin to establish a return trip configuration from the admin panel, allowing customers to schedule their return trip from their pickup location. This feature not only enhances customer convenience but also enables dispatch companies to plan trips in advance.

Setting Up the Return Trip Feature​

Step 1: Navigate to the Manage Options in the admin panel.

Step 2: Locate the Vehicle Type and Pricing feature.

Step 3: Here, the admin sets up return trip pricing.

Step 4: Click on Edit for existing pricing.

Step 5: At the bottom, find the Return Trip Discount option.

This feature enables dispatch companies to offer discounts to customers who are scheduling their return journey with the same company.

Configuring Return Trip Pricing​

Step 1: Define the discount as a percentage or a fixed amount.

Step 2: Click on Save to configure the return trip pricing for the vehicle types.

Scheduling a Return Trip​

Step 1: Click on Trips and under the Rides screen, generate a trip.

Step 2: Click on the Add Booking button.

Step 3: The Return Journey option will appear.

Step 4: Select the pickup and drop off locations.

Step 5: Schedule the pickup journey.

Step 6: Schedule the return journey.

Step 7: Click on Next to generate the return trip journey.

The pricing for the journey from point A to point B and the return journey from point B to point A will be the same. However, a discount will be applied if the return trip is preplanned.

Generating a Trip in Advance​

Step 1: If the customer is already in the system, select their data and make a booking.

Step 2: Once the booking is generated, the admin can see the rescheduled trip under the Upcoming tabs.

The return journey is indicated with an "R" symbol. The admin can assign the same driver to both trips or plan the assignment according to the return journey.

This return journey feature allows the admin to offer specific discounts to customers, who can also preplan their journey in advance using the same system.
